    Hi Tom

This is a great site! Thanks for your work – I look forward to finding out more when I get my livebox. One thing I would be interested in is to do with pairing of WiFi phones – orange only list 2 that are compatible but would others work and would you need to be on orange on those phones to take advantage of the calls? Any knowledge on this would be interesting. Thanks again and keep up the good work!

I have had some trouble installing my livebox but it is up and running now and the network is good – we currently run two computers on it, one is XP one is Vista. The only problem is when we try to install a network printer, it installed on the XP computer fine but the instructions you have given don’t work on Vista. Thanks, Richard

Hi Tom, good work, and thanks……I have a Sagem livebox (f@st3202)based in France, and have just got a media server so I can access stuff when travelling…..but I’ve tried so many times to get the web server loaded so am looking for advice if poss. I have forwarded ports as required by Windows Home Server, tried enabling DMZ, changing firewall security options all to no avail….any suggestions would be most welcome….cheers (ps. I suspect that Orange in France may actually block one of the ports used but cannot get a reasonable answer from Orange)

i’m trying to use the livebox as a conventional wired router, by plugging 2 computers into it via the ethernet ports, both can access the internet, but neither are able to communicate with each other over a network. Any help?

This is a prety basic question, I know, but here goes!
I have been using a laptop to connect wirelessly to my Orange Livebox for 8 months, but suddenly it will not connect any more.
I have followed the “connection unsuccessful” topic in the Orange on-line self service centre but with no success.
    Any ideas please???

Hi – My VPN connection to work fails now. It used to work however whenever I try to connect now it is seen to “hit” work and then drops out. As far as we can gather this is an orange/ live box prblem as the settings work on other wirless/ hard wired routers. Any ideas on what fault may be and a fix? Bombay judt said if my @ light was on the VPN would work – good as useless

I use a livebox to connect apple lap top to internet. My son has been given a laptop and would like access too. System preferences asks for network password – have forgotten. What can we do please?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to disable the firmware updates happening. The latest updates stop my connection working, if I roll it back it works perfectly until it does the update again!

  • 22 THSJ // Feb 19, 2009 at 6:54 pm

    salam,,

    Dear mr SUHIL KHARBAT MR.
I UNDERSTAND YOUR QUESTION, AND THE PROBLEM YOU SEE IS AS FOLLOWS; YOUR N95 CONNECT TO THE LIVEBOX AND ALREADY REGISTERD FOR THE FICALL PROG.
BUT WHAT YOU ASK FOR IS THE DISCONNECTION YOU HAVE WHEN YOU MAKE A CALL.

THE CAUSE FOR THIS PROBLEM IS THE PORT #NO. 5060.
LIVEBOXES IN JORDAN “OUR CONTRY” AREN’T ACCESS TO THIS PORT AS THEY COME FROM ITS ORIGIN.
AND TO OPEN THIS PORT AS A NORMAL USER : USER1 & USER2, ALTHOUGH YOU CALLED AN ADMINISTRATOR. BUT NOT THAT (NC) WHO HAVE THE RIGHTS TO OPEN THIS PORT.

IT IS UNFORTUNATELY TO HEAR FROM THE JORDAN-TELECOM (ORANGE) THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW ABOUT WHAT YOU TALK!!!!!

FOR THIS REASON I FOUND ; AFTER MANY TRYINGS. TO REPLACE MY LIVEBOX WITH A NORMAL MODEM (SPEADTOUCH) FROM THEM . AND LOSE THE OTHER ADVANTAGES FOR THIS FUKING MACHINE.

    CLEAR????

I AM SORRY FOR THAT MY LOVELY “”"TOM”"” BUT I ABSOLUTELY DAMAGED MY MIND WHEN I STOP AND NOT ASK YOU IN THAT MOMENT.

BUT PLEASE CAN YOU LEARN US ABOUT THE SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM ; SUCH AS RENEWING THE SOFTWARE OF THE LIVEBOX TO THAT ONE THAT INCLUDE THE “”PORT FORWARDING “” ORDER.

    YOUR BROTHER THSJ. (An Accountant)

  • 26 Ray // Apr 5, 2009 at 6:00 pm

can you connect external hard drive storage to the livebox USB port and how do you configure it?

  • 27 David // Apr 14, 2009 at 3:19 pm

    Hello:
I have the router-wifi Inventel DV4210_WS, I would like to connect an external hard disk in it rear usb master port.

In the modem configuration page, the router knows in the usb port is connected the hard disk, but…

How Can I do to access to this drive?
By IP… maybe (How can I say it?)
    By WIFI? (How?)
In the manual (by orange in Spain) do not explain it, and I think is possible.
(All USB parameters are activated in the configuration menu and runs perfectly).

    Thank you very much!

Hello, i am currently using a livebox for my laptop, my son and I are trying to connect his apple and I am trying to connect another laptop, they will not connect to livebox.

  • 30 Joseph // Jun 24, 2009 at 4:40 pm

    @Clare
Try pressing the “1″ button on the side of the livebox and then trying to connect. this opens up the wireless for new devices to connect but its only open as long as the wireless light is flashing.

Hi, I’m trying to connect to my parents Inventel Wanadoo Livebox (Orange) using my own laptop whilst round at their house. It can’t connect. I’ve tried a few things in the set up area – changing the WPA&WEP to just WPA, turning off the firewall, turning off security altogeter – but nothing works.

One thing I’ve noticed is that in the set up area it has my parents laptop as an associated device. I can see an option to remove it, but no option to add another.

I have no idea how to solve this.

    Thanks

    Tom

Remember, you need to press the pairing button when your laptop is trying to connect. That’s the little ‘1′ just above the USB port.

I have a live box with a wireless access point attached. This works fine for a while (hours or sometimes even days) but then I get limited connections. This is happening even on previously happy connections. I amthinking this is a DNS issue. Are there any known issues with the livebox DNS management? The situation resolves if I restart the live box, but this is getting anoying.

  • 36 Paul Metcalfe // Sep 25, 2009 at 5:24 pm

    HI
I am trying to setup a local network consisting of 4 computers and a new mini livebox. The annoying thing is everything was networked including printer sharing and connected to the internet fine but my free VOIP second line didn’t work so after Orange tested my livebox remotely they told me it would have to be replaced for the second line to work. Consequently I have installed the new Mini Livebox and now have the internet working but not the LAN or file sharing. Can anyone help me to get it working as I did not set up the network and am unsure how to do this, or is their a good tutorial for doing this. My main PC is hard wired whereas the others are wirelessly connected. All help appreciated. Cheers
    Paul
ps: Unfortunately Orange tech support tell me they don’t support this.

  • 41 Nicole // Feb 5, 2010 at 5:59 pm

Has anyone managed to connect an external HDD via the USB port? Have connected printer with no probs.

Also thinkin about the way to connect both devices – would it work with a usb port extension?

  • 42 Nicole // Feb 10, 2010 at 3:38 pm

    RE : Skandany

Did you push the wifi button on the back. When you do it allows new connections for a couple of minutes. You can tell as a light will flash ont he front.
